Kirsty is a mindfulness practitioner, fully trained and experienced mindfulness trainer and Registered Clinical Psychologist living in the Queenstown area.

Mindfulness is becoming very popular these days…although mindfulness is already in-built in our human-ness and the concept of mindfulness is simple, people trying to be mindful find that its not that easy to do, remember to do or do consistently. These workshops will offer tasters of mindfulness around different themes or challenges of life that we all face. Do join me to further your mindfulness journey or start afresh…

Nurturing Your Inner Smile – A half-day workshop on self-kindness

Before we can be truly kind and compassionate to others, we need to learn to be kind to ourselves. So be kind to yourself and come along to this half-day workshop! Through discussion, guided exercises and practices we will be exploring ways in which we may bring self-kindness into our lives. Suitable for those totally new to mindfulness or for those who have already attended meditation classes or an 8-week course, this half-day can build on your existing practice.

8-Week Mindfulness-Based Course

Do you have New Year resolutions to be more present in your life and more kind to yourself this year?

This course can help you further your intention – it is a blend of the well researched Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Cognitive Therapy Course that is taught worldwide for stress management. This course teaches ways in which you can come back to the present moment again and again. By tuning into yourself – body and mind – and your surroundings you can learn to gently be with your experience here and now. Through gentle persistence in practicing mindfulness over the 8 weeks it offers improved wellbeing, mental freedom, self-compassion, resilience, interconnectedness and greater clarity and calm.

Easing Stress through Mindfulness – Saturday 11th March

Stress is part of modern day life, but is stress within ourselves inevitable? This workshop will explore how stress manifests within us and how we unintentionally fuel our stress. It will guide how to recognise stress in ourselves earlier in the process, how to use mindfulness to dissolve distress.

Day of Mindfulness Practice – either Sat/Sun 25th or 26th March

This time spent immersed in meditation provides time and space for focused practice that can refresh mindfulness skills and strengthen ongoing practice at home. This day of meditation practice is guided and features practices within the 8-Week Mindfulness-Based Courses I offer.

The day will be guided, but spent mostly in silence with some time spent sharing our experience towards the end of the day. You will be led through various meditations including sitting, walking, and mindful movement. There will also be time spent in the natural surrounding beauty, which will be incorporated into meditation, as well as working with the inner and outer distractions we find in everyday life.

 Digital Wellness – An Introduction – Saturday 8th April

This workshop aims to raise self-awareness of the impact of the digital world on our mental and physically wellbeing. It provides ways to reduce this impact through mindful use of technology as well as when and how to engage in digital detox. By plugging back into yourself and your environment that is present we mindfully disconnect from technology to reconnect with ourselves.

Mindfully Busy – How to ‘Do’ Mindfully – Saturday 20th May

We often get so caught up in the busyness of our ‘to dos’, family activities, juggling work and home life…the list can feel endless…that our head spins and our stress levels climb. This workshop introduces mindfulness strategies to help ease this by: how to bring awareness to the moment, create mindful pauses within the busyness and mindfully engage in what we have to do instead of automatically reacting.
